Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and deliver essential Go services for PingOne Privilege, incorporating just-in-time access, credential-less authentication, and Zero Trust access to both multi-cloud and on-premises resources.

• Develop AI security functionalities, including MCP gateways, AI agent identity and governance, and real-time protective measures against prompt injection and data exfiltration.

• Create highly available, multi-region Kubernetes services with resilient workflow orchestration and distributed data storage solutions.

• Take ownership of systems through their design, implementation, and production phases.

• Execute integrations with OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and certificate-based authentication protocols.

• Construct secure proxy and gateway layers for SSH, RDP, Kubernetes, databases, and web applications.

• Perform code and design evaluations.

• Guide engineers through hands-on collaboration and mentorship.

• Set a standard for high-quality, secure, and maintainable code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of practical experience in software engineering.

• More than 4 years at a Principal or Staff level focused on developing large-scale security or identity products.

• An individual contributor who regularly writes and ships production code.

• Extensive working knowledge of IAM/PAM, covering privileged access, secrets and key management, session brokering, least-privilege, and Zero Trust architectures.

• Proficient hands-on experience with OAuth2/OIDC and PKI.

• Expert-level skills in Go, or a strong background in systems programming with a willingness to work in Go.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and distributed data storage solutions like Cassandra or other NoSQL technologies.

• Experience with workflow engines such as Temporal is advantageous.

• Background in building or securing LLM-based systems, agent frameworks, MCP, model-based threat detection, or AI guardrails is preferred.

• Demonstrated capability to influence cross-team technical decisions while remaining on the critical path for delivery.

• A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
