Principal Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage the strategic vendor relationship programs within the Information Security sector.

• Direct security integration initiatives related to mergers and acquisitions.

• Act as a liaison among Information Security, business leaders, Procurement, Legal, Enterprise Architecture, Corporate Development, and external stakeholders.

• Develop and implement governance frameworks.

• Foster strategic security alliances with essential suppliers.

• Supervise security due diligence processes.

• Lead security integration efforts following acquisitions.

• Influence cross-functional stakeholders while offering strategic recommendations centered on risk.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree with 7 years of business experience related to the full software development lifecycle; OR a technical certification alongside 9 years of relevant business experience; OR 10 years of business experience in the software development lifecycle.

• Proven experience in managing cybersecurity vendors, governance, and strategic partnerships.

• Background in supporting cybersecurity due diligence and integration activities during mergers and acquisitions.

• Excellent communication and executive presentation capabilities focused on risk and strategic insights.

• Familiarity with project and timekeeping systems, such as Clarity PPM.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

• Capability to influence indirect reports, project stakeholders, and executives.

• Experience managing within a matrixed organizational structure.

• Capacity to navigate ambiguity effectively.

• Demonstrated ownership and accountability for results.

• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivery certainty.

• Methodical, organized, and structured execution of tasks.

• Ability to cultivate trusted relationships and showcase strong interpersonal skills.

• Agile and flexible in adjusting to evolving priorities.

• Possess organizational and political acumen, including negotiation skills and experience in sales and/or contract origination.

• Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

• Intermediate, independent cybersecurity certification such as CISM, CISSP, Security+, GIAC, or equivalent is preferred.
