• Take charge of GitLab's competitive positioning for AI and agentic software development from start to finish.
• Perform primary landscape evaluations and analyze competitive tools along with developer-level perceptions.
• Transform competitive insights into strategic positions and actions within days.
• Provide guidance to Product on roadmap sequencing influenced by competitive dynamics, evidence, and recommendations.
• Develop competitive resources, strategies, objection handling techniques, and sales approaches against specific competitors.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of competitive sales strategies on win rates.
• Collaborate with Growth and Campaigns on initiatives aimed at displacing competitors and contributing to the pipeline.
• Update Investor Relations, industry analysts, sales teams, and executive leadership on the competitive landscape.
• Define GitLab's unique stance against AI-native competitors in the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Publish thought leadership pieces on agentic development.
• Evaluate new market entrants and disseminate market-shaping insights throughout the organization.
• Develop partnership strategies based on competitive analysis.
• Equip executives with competitive narratives for discussions with customers and the board.
• Elevate the competitive standards within the Product Marketing Manager team.
• Report to the Senior Director of Product & Solutions Marketing.
• Demonstrated impact at both organizational and industry levels.
• Extensive domain knowledge in SDLC, DevSecOps, and agentic software development.
• Proven history of enhancing competitive positioning with quantifiable improvements in win rates.
• Proficiency in the AI/agentic coding landscape and familiarity with competitor exposure areas.
• Recognized thought leadership in the industry, including speaking engagements, publications, or advisory roles.
• Experience in briefing executives, investor relations personnel, and industry analysts.
• Capability to quickly form and articulate a well-defined perspective even with incomplete information.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts in straightforward narratives.
• Hands-on experience utilizing AI tools in your workflow.
• Self-motivated, data-driven mindset that leverages win/loss insights for strategic decision-making.
