This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the payments strategy and develop a multi-year roadmap.

• Align platform investments with immediate business priorities and justify tradeoffs to executives.

• Create a customer wallet that spans products and platforms, featuring balance and activity views, top-up options, withdrawal processes, and split payments.

• Implement international payment solutions, currency options, and local payment methods.

• Collaborate with Tax and Legal departments on registration, DAC7 reporting obligations, and compliance across different markets.

• Oversee the processes for acquiring, alternative payment methods, payouts, settlements, funding patterns, reconciliations, ledgers, and reporting from start to finish.

• Spearhead multi-PSP routing, least-cost routing, failover strategies, redundancy, retry and decline approaches, and network-level economics.

• Manage authorization rates and the cost per transaction.

• Work closely with Risk and Fraud teams to address payment fraud, dispute losses, transaction screenings, chargebacks, disputes, and tradeoffs between approval rates and losses.

• Partner with Marketplace and Grading, Finance and Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Product, and Technology teams.

• Maintain consistent communication with the executive team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in product management, particularly within payments or consumer fintech sectors.

• Proven experience managing production payment systems at significant scales.

• Preferred background as a Senior Individual Contributor in a fast-growing marketplace, fintech, or platform organization.

• Familiarity with card networks and interchange systems.

• Experience with gateway and PSP integrations such as Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, or similar platforms.

• Understanding of tokenization, 3DS, SCA, alternative and local payment methods, payouts, and dispute lifecycles.

• Experience in launching payment systems in new countries and navigating local currencies, payment methods, regulatory requirements, and tax reporting.

• Experience working within a marketplace environment.

• Capability to leverage data and experimentation, make decisive choices amid uncertainty, and take responsibility for results.

• Strong communication skills to build consensus without direct authority.

• Preferred strong background in financial operations, including ledgers, settlements, reconciliations, and accounting close processes.

• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States, verified through e-Verify.
