Principal Product Manager, Payer & Outcomes Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the patient segmentation and stratification infrastructure.

• Develop systems that categorize patients based on their clinical profiles, behavioral indicators, and recognized factors influencing clinical outcomes.

• Create a measurement layer for the cost of care.

• Incorporate both internal and external cost data.

• Deliver a Headway cost basis and market comparison for each patient and segment.

• Construct reporting and data interfaces aimed at payers.

• Convert internal infrastructure into population summaries that are understandable to payers.

• Establish the data strategy and architectural vision for the outcomes team.

• Determine what should be built, purchased, or postponed, and prioritize execution accordingly.

• Collaborate with data engineering, data science, and clinical strategy teams.

• Ensure alignment among engineering, clinical, and commercial stakeholders on a unified data vision.

• Develop a robust and auditable data infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing complex data infrastructure products from start to finish.

• Strong technical expertise.

• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries.

• Familiarity with statistical methods.

• Ability to work closely with data scientists as a near-peer.

• Experience in defending cost or outcome figures against scrutiny from payers, regulators, or auditors.

• Background in setting product strategy within uncertain domains.

• Capability to make informed decisions regarding what to build, buy, or defer.

• Experience in aligning engineering, clinical, and commercial stakeholders around a cohesive data vision.

• Bonus: Direct experience with claims data, episode cost modeling, or risk stratification.

• Bonus: Transitioned into product management from a data science or analytics engineering background.
