Principal Product Manager – Credit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the comprehensive strategy for Marqeta’s credit platform.

• Define and implement the multi-quarter roadmap for the core services of the credit platform.

• Align prioritization with client requirements, business goals, and regulatory standards.

• Create product specifications and technical documentation for backend systems, APIs, and data models.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, go-to-market, operations, legal, compliance, and risk teams.

• Collaborate with engineering leaders on decisions regarding account management, transaction processing, and data integrity architecture.

• Interact with external customers and internal stakeholders to discern needs and confirm solutions.

• Utilize analytics and product metrics to pinpoint platform deficiencies and assess feature effectiveness.

• Serve as the representative for Marqeta’s credit platform with enterprise clients, issuing banks, and networks.

• Guide teams without direct authority and take responsibility for outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of product management experience in the fintech or payments sector.

• Proven experience in a leadership role working with networks and banks.

• A successful history of delivering technically intricate credit products and/or platforms at scale.

• Experience navigating multi-stakeholder, regulated environments.

• Ability to recognize market opportunities in credit and convert them into actionable strategies.

• Strong executive presence with experience influencing senior leadership, external clients, and partners in legal, compliance, and risk domains.

• Extensive technical knowledge and comfort interacting with APIs, data models, system architecture, AI/ML applications, and emerging technologies.

• Capability to advance teams despite ambiguity and both internal and external obstacles.

• Previous experience in building or scaling credit-as-a-service or embedded credit solutions for enterprise clients or card program managers.
