Principal Product Manager – ClickHouse Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development and implementation of ClickHouse Cloud.

• Establish and drive the product roadmap for cloud-native database functionalities.

• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to prioritize and implement enhancements to the database engine, storage layer, and query optimizer.

• Directly interact with customers through engagement, feedback, and market research.

• Partner with design, marketing, operations, and sales teams on feature launches, blog articles, product positioning, and messaging strategies.

• Define and monitor KPIs to evaluate product performance.

• Act as the main point of contact for all product-related communications.

• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure stakeholders are kept informed.

• Contribute to shaping the company culture within a rapidly growing startup.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8+ years of experience in product management.

• Strong expertise in cloud-based SaaS products.

• Preferred experience with database systems, distributed systems, or real-time analytics platforms.

• Practical experience with SQL.

• Comprehensive understanding of query execution, indexing strategies, partitioning, and performance optimization.

• Experience with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or other columnar databases.

• Knowledge of data lakes, ETL pipelines, CDC, and data orchestration frameworks.

• Ability to collaborate with engineering on schema management, query planning, storage engines, and schema design.

• Experience in designing and implementing database replication, consistency models, and backup/restore procedures.

• Capable of influencing cross-functional teams and driving execution in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

• Familiarity with consumption-based or usage-based billing systems and cloud marketplaces.

• Experience in product management within the cloud-native SaaS domain.

• Must be able to address work authorization/sponsorship for the Netherlands.
