This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop Roon’s product strategy, identify target users, and establish differentiation.
• Formulate strategies to expand the audience while maintaining the loyalty of existing paying listeners.
• Conduct user research through direct discussions, community forums, support tickets, reviews, and product analytics.
• Convert strategy into a prioritized feature list.
• Manage and schedule the roadmap across several quarters.
• Create implementation plans and detailed specifications in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Track key product behaviors and set success metrics.
• Design interactive prototypes utilizing AI tools.
• Establish and uphold the product quality standards in collaboration with design teams.
• Examine the codebase to comprehend current functionalities, business rules, constraints, and edge cases.
• Develop research pipelines, internal tools, automation processes, and evaluation frameworks.
• Work closely with engineers, a designer, and senior leadership as the principal product leader at Roon.
• Over 10 years of experience in product management, including having directed the strategy for an entire product or business instead of just a feature area.
• A deep personal connection to music through significant, long-term engagement as a collector, musician, producer, DJ, critic, or dedicated listener.
• Strong understanding of product quality and direction, with the ability to choose between competing options and articulate the rationale.
• Daily utilization of AI for research synthesis, prototyping, and personal tool development.
• Experience transforming concepts into functional prototypes using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, or v0.
• Proficiency in validating AI-generated outputs and determining when to refrain from using AI tools.
• Ability to commit to and defend decisions even with incomplete information.
• Capability to operate with minimal guidance within a small, remote, self-managing team.
• Skilled in persuasive writing for expert public users and senior leadership.
• Experience in establishing a measurement practice from the ground up.
• Competence in querying product data with SQL or similar tools, conducting experiments, and interpreting results.
• Familiarity with subscription metrics such as trial-to-paid conversion rates, retention, churn, and lifetime value.
• Technical fluency adequate to understand system behaviors, constraints, and edge cases.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%, both domestically and internationally.
• Ability to work virtually across any US time zone.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
