Principal Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Enhance the design quality at Ro through direct involvement, outstanding visual craftsmanship, creative guidance, and product insight.

• Spearhead the progression of Ro’s Design System, encompassing its vision, strategic roadmap, visual identity, adoption, and overall impact.

• Influence how Design Systems facilitate AI-assisted product development by utilizing tools such as Claude and Figma Make.

• Provide creative direction for Vertical Growth and craft experiences that engage potential patients with Ro, convey value, and boost conversion rates.

• Transform creative exploration into organization-wide advantages by formalizing effective patterns into reusable systems.

• Tackle complex design challenges from uncertainty to execution.

• Mentor and challenge Senior and Staff designers, offering critique and guidance in craft leadership.

• Collaborate with Product Design leadership to enhance the future of the patient experience.

• Report directly to the VP of Product Design and work alongside Design, Product, Engineering, Growth, and Marketing teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A portfolio showcasing an advanced understanding of typography, composition, hierarchy, and storytelling, combined with solid product-design principles.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and launching high-impact digital products for both web and mobile platforms.

• Capacity to function as both a systems thinker and a hands-on creator.

• Proven experience in building, evolving, or promoting the adoption of design systems on a large scale.

• Exceptional conceptual thinking and creative direction abilities.

• Background in designing consumer-facing experiences where brand, storytelling, growth, and conversion are critical.

• Established Principal-level leadership and influence.

• Experience in proactively identifying ambiguous, high-impact opportunities while aligning senior cross-functional partners.

• Ability to enhance the capabilities of seasoned designers through hands-on work, critique, and mentorship.
