This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Lead technical consulting initiatives for both new and existing opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to account teams and clients regarding routing, automation, and cross-segment technologies.
• Develop and sustain relationships with account management, Product Line Management, and Engineering teams.
• Comprehend customer needs and direct the design of solutions.
• Present in-depth technical presentations and demonstrations.
• Participate in proof-of-concept evaluations and assist with responses to RFPs.
• Provide guidance to customers and sales teams on HPE's product offerings, automation solutions, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
• Present at both internal and external conferences, technology days, innovation days, and industry events.
• Align proposed technical solutions with customer business needs, particularly for executive-level decision-makers.
• Support a Tier 1 Service Provider customer as a member of the Service Provider Pre-Sales Engineering team.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in networking.
• Demonstrated success in a customer-facing pre-sales role selling networking equipment, or equivalent end-user experience in design, architecture, or vendor selection.
• A bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field is mandatory.
• Exceptional hands-on capabilities in supporting complex proof-of-concept tests involving new products and emerging technologies.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in virtual, multinational teams with minimal supervision.
• Credible technical engagement with engineering teams from Enterprise and Service Providers on service provider domain topics.
• Willingness to travel to customers, partners, and account teams, typically 20–30% of work time.
• Expert-level understanding of BGP, ISIS, OSPF, Multicast, L2/L3 VPNs, BNG, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, RSVP, SR-TE, and SRv6.
• Familiarity with access, metro, and core backbone routing design and MPLS-enabled services.
• Knowledgeable in mobile wireless architecture, virtualization, and data center networking.
• Understanding of Netconf/REST APIs, YANG, OpenConfig, gRPC, and modern WAN architectures.
• Experience with Paragon, MIST, Apstra, or similar competitive products is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, containers, and Linux.
• Skills in automation and programming, such as Python and Ansible.
• General understanding of emerging protocols, high-performance network security solutions, and merchant silicon technologies.
• Familiarity with MX/PTX, SRX, QFX/Nexus/Arista, or similar platforms.
• Professional-level industry certification is preferred.
