This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Lead technical consulting initiatives for both new and existing opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to account teams and clients in areas such as routing, automation, and cross-segment technologies.
• Establish and nurture relationships with account management, Product Line Management, and Engineering teams.
• Comprehend customer needs and provide guidance on solution design.
• Conduct technical deep-dive presentations and demonstrations.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept evaluations and aid in RFP submissions.
• Advise clients and sales teams on the product portfolio, automation solutions, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
• Present at internal and external conferences, technology days, innovation days, and industry events.
• Align proposed technical solutions with customer business needs, including for executive-level stakeholders.
• Provide support to a Tier 1 Service Provider client as a member of the Service Provider Pre-Sales Engineering team.
• Over 12 years of relevant experience in networking.
• Demonstrated success in a customer-facing pre-sales role involving the sale of networking equipment, or equivalent end-user experience in design, architecture, or vendor selection.
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field is required.
• Exceptional hands-on abilities in supporting complex proof-of-concept evaluations with new products and emerging technologies.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work effectively in virtual, multinational teams with minimal supervision.
• Ability to engage technically with Enterprise and Service Provider engineering teams regarding service provider domain topics.
• Willingness to travel to customers, partners, and account teams, generally 20–30% of working time.
• Expert-level practical knowledge of BGP, ISIS, OSPF, Multicast, L2/L3 VPNs, BNG, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, RSVP, SR-TE, and SRv6.
• Strong understanding of access, metro, and core backbone routing design, as well as MPLS-enabled services including Multicast-VPN, L3VPN, L2VPN, and EVPN.
• Solid knowledge of mobile wireless architecture, virtualization technologies, and data center networking.
• Familiarity with network management, service provisioning, automation, monitoring, telemetry interfaces, Netconf/REST APIs, YANG, OpenConfig, and gRPC.
• Experience with Paragon, MIST, Apstra, or similar competitive products is an advantage.
• Extensive knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, containers, and Linux operating systems.
• Automation and programming skills in languages such as Python and Ansible.
• General understanding of emerging protocols and technologies from standards bodies.
• General knowledge of high-performance security solutions for network infrastructure, cloud, and mobility.
• Familiarity with merchant silicon technologies such as Trident, Tomahawk, and Jericho.
• Understanding of MX/PTX, SRX, QFX/Nexus/Arista, or similar networking platforms.
• Professional-level industry certification is preferred.
