Principal Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the front-end network architecture, including DCI, edge, ingress/egress, and control-plane networks.

• Design and manage extensive edge and service networks.

• Create scalable Ethernet architectures.

• Establish routing, segmentation, and isolation strategies.

• Lead the hands-on deployment, validation, and troubleshooting efforts in new data centers.

• Define and uphold reference architectures, standards, and long-term growth models.

• Manage relationships with network carriers and service providers.

• Collaborate with the platform team to design and implement network solutions tailored for Kubernetes-centric applications.

• Work closely with the Back End Network Principal to delineate clear interface boundaries between front-end and RDMA back-end fabrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 10 years of data center networking experience.

• Proven expertise in managing very large Ethernet fabrics and extensive edge networks.

• Strong hands-on experience with BGP, traffic engineering, and high-availability designs.

• Experience working in 100G–400G+ Ethernet environments.

• Familiarity with optical standards and transceiver types (e.g., 100G/400G/800G, SR/LR/ER, DWDM).

• Documented experience in collaborating with carrier providers to ensure production connectivity.

• Multi-vendor experience with technologies such as Juniper, Cisco, Arista, and Whitebox.

• Familiarity with various Network Operating Systems, including Junos, IOS/IOS-XE, NX-OS, EOS, and SONiC.
