This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
β’ Oversee the design and implementation of mechanical building services solutions for Defence and secure infrastructure projects, from initial concept through to detailed design and construction support.
β’ Offer technical leadership in HVAC, ventilation, chilled and heating water systems, building automation interfaces, specialist Defence facility services, and energy-efficient design approaches.
β’ Serve as the lead mechanical discipline engineer on significant multidisciplinary projects, ensuring technical excellence, quality assurance, and adherence to Defence standards, Australian Standards, and project specifications.
β’ Coordinate mechanical project deliverables, manage resources, budgets, and program timelines.
β’ Cultivate and sustain relationships with Defence clients, project stakeholders, contractors, and external consultants.
β’ Prepare and assess technical reports, specifications, calculations, design documentation, and engineering evaluations.
β’ Mentor and support engineers, designers, and recent graduates.
β’ Collaborate with electrical, civil, structural, hydraulic, and other specialist disciplines to provide integrated engineering solutions.
β’ Extensive experience in delivering mechanical building services projects, preferably within the Defence sector; experience in government, infrastructure, transport, health, or other complex built environment sectors will also be considered.
β’ Demonstrated experience in working within multidisciplinary project teams and managing technical delivery on large-scale initiatives.
β’ Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems, HVAC design principles, and Defence infrastructure requirements.
β’ Experience in executing projects involving complex mechanical systems, sustainability outcomes, and technically challenging operational contexts.
β’ Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and project management capabilities.
β’ Ideally possesses a Baseline Security Clearance or has the capacity to acquire and maintain one.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
β’ Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status or the potential to achieve chartership.
