This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Create PSSE, PSLF, TSAT, and PSCAD models for renewable energy facilities.

• Execute quality assessments and benchmarking for various software models.

• Comprehend dynamic model block diagrams and adjust parameters to comply with regional model performance standards.

• Assist with interconnection applications, which include initial plant design, basic preliminary drawings, and application forms containing design details.

• Perform preliminary system studies, including those focused on reactive power.

• Work collaboratively with developer clients to grasp their needs, timelines, design modifications, and feedback from system operators/transmission owners.

• Keep track of regional interconnection requirements, processes, deadlines, and queue schedules.

• Address customer design alterations, inquiries, and deadlines promptly.

• Remain informed about regulatory updates, grid codes, ISO/RTO requirements, industry standards, and NERC compliance regulations.

• Carry out voltage and frequency ride-through analyses.

• Assist in validating models for renewable projects.

• Contribute to developing tools that automate and enhance model quality assessments and analyses.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.

• At least 2 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 1 year specifically related to power systems.

• Proficiency in steady-state and/or dynamic analysis using PSS®E and PSCAD is required.

• Previous experience working with or for transmission system operators/transmission owners is preferred.

• Familiarity with PSCAD, PSLF, and TSAT modeling is desirable.

• Experience programming in Python is preferred.

• Must have authorization for permanent employment in the U.S.

• Capability to independently complete assigned tasks.

• Ability to manage personal workload and adapt to evolving requirements.

• Self-motivated individual eager to recognize and implement enhancements.

• Analytical mindset, self-driven, and capable of functioning in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong presentation and verbal/written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster effective working relationships.

• Willingness to embrace innovation and utilize advancing technology and AI tools.

• Relevant military experience will be considered.
