Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Create and develop a refined user interface for both the web application and marketing site.

• Partner with the engineering team to implement new features that emphasize excellent user experience and design quality.

• Take ownership of design choices from initial concepts to finalized production code.

• Develop and enhance the design system and component library.

• Enhance accessibility, responsiveness, and the overall polish of interactions across existing product interfaces.

• Rapidly prototype concepts using both code and static mockups.

• Foster improved design and user experience practices within the engineering team.

• Assist customers, review pull requests, and contribute to issue creation in the open-source community.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation.

• Contribute to product-led growth initiatives, including code samples, blog posts, videos, and social media content.

⛳️ Requirements

• A robust portfolio demonstrating design excellence and a proven track record of delivering production-ready user interfaces.

• Proficiency in modern frontend development, particularly with React and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with Remix.

• A keen eye for visual and interaction details, encompassing typography, spacing, and motion.

• Capability to work directly from a problem statement and independently drive design decisions.

• Remote applicants should be located within CET to ET time zones (GMT+1:00 to GMT-5:00).

• Experience managing design processes from start to finish in a small startup environment.

• Background in a developer tools company or a strong understanding of developers as end users.

• Experience in building or refining a design system or component library.

• Proven history of delivering quickly and iterating in a public space.

• Candidates based in the UK must be willing to join the team in London.

• Contributions to open source projects.

• Experience as a founder in a venture-backed startup.
