This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Oversee a portfolio of debt mandates from initial offer indication through to closing, acting as the primary negotiator and senior execution lead.
• Facilitate lender due diligence, structuring, negotiation, documentation, and closing to meet institutional standards.
• Manage transaction speed and closure rates throughout the deal portfolio.
• Create credit memos and pricing recommendations, presenting transactions to the Credit Committee.
• Lead deal teams, assign transactions, review underwriting, due diligence, and financial models, while mentoring junior team members.
• Conduct debt execution in collaboration with lenders and institutional capital providers.
• Collaborate with Industry Coverage to assess opportunities and provide insights on market conditions and financeability.
• Work alongside Investments on tax-equity/preferred-equity attachment transactions.
• Guide workstreams for new lender programs, financing structures, and standards for term sheets/documentation.
• Develop standardized execution processes and promote AI-enabled modeling and automation.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering on transaction tooling initiatives.
• Represent Crux at webinars, in whitepapers, conferences, and industry discussions.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8-10+ years of overall experience.
• At least 7 years in renewable energy project finance, infrastructure debt, or structured lending.
• Proven history of leading construction, term, back-leverage, or debt capital markets transactions as the primary negotiator.
• Extensive knowledge of project finance debt structures for solar, wind, and storage projects.
• Experience in negotiating credit agreements and intercreditor arrangements.
• Understanding of the relationship between tax equity and debt.
• Background in preparing and presenting transactions to credit or investment committees.
• Experience in leading and mentoring deal teams.
• Proficient in reviewing the underwriting and modeling work of junior team members.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with developers, lenders, and investors.
• Strong judgment and capability to work independently in a rapidly scaling environment.
• Keen interest in utilizing technology and AI to enhance debt execution processes.
• FINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63 are required or a willingness to obtain under Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship.
• Remote-first operating model; work from anywhere within the US and Canada.
