Principal Backend Architect, C#/.NET, Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Define the server-side architecture for all products

• Lead the incremental migration and engineering of the monolith towards defined services

• Create and enforce standards, shared libraries, service templates, and API/contract designs

• Establish event-driven architecture using Azure Service Bus, including delivery guarantees, retries, idempotency, and failure/poison message handling

• Collaborate with the Data Architect on transactional boundaries, access models, query performance, and integrations with clients and partners

• Set an example by utilizing AI agent tools in daily work and elevate the technical proficiency of the team

• Draft ADRs, conduct code reviews for key PRs, provide mentorship, participate in incident response, and engage in quarterly planning

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years in backend development/engineering, with several years in formal architecture or technical leadership roles

• Deep expertise in C# / .NET

• Proven hands-on experience with Azure, including Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, and Data Factory

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and Snowflake

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps

• Demonstrated experience in migrating or incrementally decomposing monoliths

• Strong background in asynchronous messaging, idempotency, dead-lettering, and designing robust APIs

• Daily and practical use of AI agent tools like Claude, Claude Code, or similar

• Experience building with AI: agents, reusable skills, MCP servers, and evaluations

• Hands-on profile: ability to continue programming and building solutions; this is not a pure management or theoretical architecture role
