Preconstruction Project Coordinator – LATAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Review architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and consulting drawings to pinpoint coordination challenges, missing information, scope discrepancies, and constructability issues.

• Create trade-specific RFPs, bid packages, scope sheets, subcontract exhibits, and language for subcontractor scopes.

• Identify qualified subcontractors and vendors, distribute bid packages, manage follow-ups, and ensure proposals reach completion.

• Analyze subcontractor bids, reconcile exclusions and qualifications, and prepare recommendations for awards.

• Validate construction costs through market research, historical pricing, material quotes, subcontractor feedback, and cost comparisons.

• Identify value-engineering opportunities that minimize cost or schedule risk without unnecessarily compromising quality or design intent.

• Draft RFIs and coordinate outstanding questions with designers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal construction leadership.

• Support project budgets, procurement schedules, tracking of long-lead items, trade cost summaries, allowances, contingencies, general conditions, and risk items.

• Prepare well-organized project handoff packages for the superintendent and field team.

• As responsibilities grow, manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, design coordination, budgets, change orders, meetings, closeout processes, and action-item logs for active projects.

• Collaborate directly with the Director of Construction as a member of the client’s project delivery team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in construction preconstruction, estimating, project engineering, or project management.

• Strong capability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and trade sequencing.

• Experience in preparing bid packages, leveling proposals, identifying scope gaps, and drafting clear scope narratives.

• Ability to assess multiple drawing disciplines for coordination, completeness, constructability, and risk.

• Excellent written communication skills for RFIs, bid instructions, subcontractor correspondence, meeting notes, and leadership summaries.

• Proficient understanding of project budgets, procurement, schedules, RFIs, submittals, change management, and construction documentation.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote position while remaining highly responsive, organized, and accountable.

• 7–10 years of construction experience with a proven track record of managing bid packages, scope development, budgeting, coordination, and project controls.

• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, estimating software, or scheduling tools.

• Experience supporting restaurant tenant improvements, commercial renovations, façade work, utility upgrades, mixed-use projects, ADUs, or ground-up construction.

• Knowledge of Los Angeles construction markets, subcontractor pricing, permitting considerations, or local trade conditions.

• Experience reviewing subcontractor change-order requests and compiling backup documentation for leadership review.
