Pre-Construction Manager – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee pre-construction phases for data center development projects from the initial stage to the commencement of construction.

• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams on planning and design development.

• Assess architectural, civil, structural, and MEP designs to ensure adherence to standards and project specifications.

• Assist in budgeting, cost estimation, value engineering, and procurement strategies.

• Drive the tendering process, vendor assessments, and contract award recommendations.

• Identify potential project risks and create mitigation strategies.

• Monitor project timelines, milestones, and essential deliverables.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

• Facilitate design reviews and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.

• May be required to perform SOX control duties where relevant.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline.

• Assistant Manager: 5–8 years of experience in project management, engineering, construction, or infrastructure.

• Manager: 8–12+ years of pertinent experience, with 3–5 years in data center or mission-critical projects.

• Preferred experience in data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale building projects.

• Familiarity with data center infrastructure and MEP systems.

• Understanding of Uptime Institute Tier standards and mission-critical environments.

• Background in cost management, procurement, and contract administration.

• PMP, PRINCE2, CDCP, CDCS, or similar certifications are a plus.

• Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
