This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the daily operations of a team of Pre-Award Specialists.
• Oversee workload allocation and communicate any concerns to the Director of Research Administration Services.
• Offer support and guidance to team members.
• Collaborate with the RAS Director on pre-award activities, problem-solving, and workload management.
• Organize inter-team meetings with the Post-Award team leader.
• Handle pre-award tasks for a designated portfolio of grants and contracts.
• Oversee daily operations and objectives for the assigned portfolio.
• Contribute insights and ideas as part of a collaborative team.
• Ensure efficient workflow and compliance with quality standards.
• Assist faculty and principal investigators in the development, preparation, and submission of grant and contract proposals.
• Confirm that applications adhere to agency and university guidelines, timelines, and deadlines, including Just-In-Time processes.
• Enter and route proposals for review.
• Obtain sub-award documents from partnering institutions.
• Create and review budgets and budget justifications.
• Evaluate budgets for consistency with sponsor requirements and regulatory compliance, including appropriate overhead rates.
• Advise principal investigators on administrative requirements and necessary budget modifications.
• Coordinate and assess proposal elements, including biosketches and facilities and resources.
• Review proposals to ensure compliance with sponsor formatting and submission guidelines.
• Track and facilitate proposal routing and secure institutional signatures.
• Monitor proposal status and inform principal investigators about research protection protocol requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with central, school, department, and division offices on research proposals.
• Undertake other related responsibilities as needed.
• A Bachelor's degree along with five years of relevant experience in grants and contracts, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Familiarity with federal regulations and guidelines related to research grant and/or contract activities.
• Proficiency in using MS Office Suite.
• Must be able to work from an approved U.S. location; Emory does not permit NJ, AK, HI, any U.S. Territories, or locations outside the United States as a primary work location.
• Eastern (EST) time zone business hours may be applicable.
• Opportunity for remote work with occasional visits to an Emory University campus.
