This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Organize and/or pre-register outpatient appointments and procedures.
• Collect and confirm patient demographic, insurance, and clinical data.
• Utilize scheduling, eligibility, registration, TRACE, and automated dialing software.
• Triage appointments and offer instructions for exam preparation.
• Prevent testing conflicts and provide scheduling flexibility across different units.
• Conduct pre-registration, eligibility verification, benefit analysis, authorization, and point-of-service collections.
• Review incoming fax orders and catalog them in TRACE.
• Relay discrepancies and changes in payer requirements to the relevant departments and management.
• Gather clinical and demographic details from referring offices and insurance providers.
• Record authorization numbers, validity periods, accounts, and updates to registrations.
• Collaborate with referring offices, hospital departments, payers, Quality Management, financial counseling, PFS, and Revenue Cycle teams.
• Assist with retro-authorization requests and resolve claims denials.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and foster positive working relationships.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, meetings, webinars, and designated educational activities.
• Execute other assigned tasks as necessary.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Proficient in PC applications, including Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated history of outstanding customer service abilities.
• Competent typing and data entry skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Skills in organization and prioritization.
• At least 1 year of experience in a call center, office, healthcare, or other collaborative environment.
• Attendance at monthly staff meetings is required, which may include evening or weekend hours.
• Must fulfill annual educational requirements of the hospital and department.
• Compliance with St. Elizabeth Healthcare policies and procedures is mandatory.
