This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Oversee and conduct system impact assessments for generator interconnection requests within the company's Generator Interconnection Queue.

• Analyze reliability effects of integrating new resources into the transmission system.

• Assess and review projects submitted by Transmission Owners.

• Deliver technical recommendations based on power system evaluations and established reliability standards.

• Act as a subject matter expert for assigned projects.

• Communicate study findings, technical requirements, and project specifics to interconnection customers, Transmission Owners, neighboring RTOs, and internal teams.

• Coordinate studies from initiation through completion while serving as the project manager.

• Ensure alignment among multiple stakeholders throughout study projects.

• Develop and maintain models that contribute to studies.

• Compile reports and analyze outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering technology, electrical and computer engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, or electronics and computer engineering technology.

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant job experience.

• Preferred experience in power system planning or operations.

• Familiarity with PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT, and VSAT is preferred.

• Previous experience in the energy industry is preferred.

• Experience conducting generation interconnection studies.

• Demonstrated experience in building or updating models that are utilized in studies.

• Proficient in report writing and results analysis.

• Basic skills in Python programming.

• A technical degree related to engineering may be considered.
