This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Assist faculty in managing the financial and compliance aspects of externally funded awards.
• Act as a liaison and collaborative partner between faculty and university offices for award administration.
• Provide comprehensive and relevant information to Principal Investigators, Department/Program staff, and central support departments.
• Aid in the financial management of awards and facilitate the award close-out process.
• Support researchers from Cluster #x across both the Main campus and the Medical Center.
• Review and reconcile expenses to ensure sponsor allowability, allocability, reasonableness, documentation, and budget compliance.
• Verify salary distributions and associated fringe benefits for precision.
• Examine key personnel commitments and inform ORS of significant variances.
• Assess indirect cost recovery calculations.
• Process corrections and adjustments within 90 days, ensuring proper review, approval, and documentation.
• Accurately and promptly complete Financial Status Report worksheets.
• Ensure timely review and processing of payments to subrecipients.
• Collaborate with cluster staff, JORA Post-Award Grant Administrators, and other offices to ensure awards are complete, accurate, and compliant.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a university or non-profit grants management role.
• Familiarity with NIH funding mechanisms, including R01, P01, P30, T32, and foundation proposals.
• Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate ongoing changes in internal and external policies.
• Ability to establish clear priorities and manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
• Capability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
• Demonstrated financial accounting skills for account reconciliation, financial and programmatic report production, and high proficiency in Excel.
• Proven experience with financial systems, accounting, and cost accounting standards related to grants and contracts management.
• Skill in fostering a collaborative, customer-oriented working environment with multiple clients and competing priorities.
• Certified Research Administration (CRA), Certified Pre-Award Research Administration (CPRA), and/or Certified Financial Research Administration (CFRA) are preferred qualifications.
