This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of commercial loans and evaluate transaction underwriting.

• Review and assess financial statements while actively monitoring the portfolio.

• Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Credit Risk throughout the transaction lifecycle.

• Structure and evaluate covenants, analyze collateral, determine risk ratings, and prepare credit recommendations.

• Maintain an independent, current, and future-oriented perspective on client creditworthiness.

• Conduct monitoring activities and periodic reviews of deals; renew or modify agreements as necessary.

• Proactively manage bank exposure to portfolio clients in coordination with Credit Risk and Relationship Managers.

• Analyze historical financial data and projections to evaluate risk ratings, identify emerging credit issues, and articulate industry trends.

• Oversee underwriting, approval, and documentation processes for new funds, loan extensions, amendments, waivers, and ancillary products.

• Review and recommend credit decisions; perform final risk rating assessments; interpret credit lending policies.

• Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.

• Recruit, train, and mentor junior staff members.

• Meet with potential clients and existing clients as necessary.

• Create and present portfolio performance reports to senior management.

• Maintain accurate system records and electronic files that support compliance and data governance.

• Provide timely, honest, and constructive performance feedback to team members and assist in their professional development.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• At least 6 years of experience in portfolio management, commercial banking, or a similar field.

• Strong knowledge of accounting, credit analysis, portfolio management, structuring, underwriting, and legal documentation.

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional demeanor for client-facing engagements.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business and risk partners.

• Proficient in financial and risk analysis, including financial modeling.

• Proven problem-solving abilities.

• Tech-savvy and capable of quickly learning new applications.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
