📋 Description

• Oversee the formulation of policies focusing on host and guest quality, which includes establishing Ground Rules and quality benchmarks for stays.

• Create clear and scalable policy frameworks that align with ongoing product innovations.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product, Supply, Community Support, Legal, and others.

• Direct efforts to operationalize policies in conjunction with cross-functional partners.

• Aid in the company’s quality initiatives by offering risk mitigation insights and delivering policy materials.

• Leverage data, research, and community feedback to assess policies and pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Proactively initiate policy updates before potential issues arise.

• Establish quality benchmarks and enforcement mechanisms for Airbnb’s marketplace.

• Empower business and product teams to operate efficiently through scalable policy frameworks.


⛳️ Requirements

• 10-12+ years of experience in a Policy or Trust and Safety role.

• Previous leadership experience in quality, standards, or community policy, with a proven track record of defining and maintaining high-quality benchmarks at scale.

• Familiarity with review, rating, or reputation systems, including the fairness and integrity challenges they present.

• Experience in crafting policies for consumer two-sided marketplaces.

• Proven ability in critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Outstanding writing and communication skills.

• Thoughtful business acumen and strategic mindset.

• Ability to perform effectively under pressure.

• Demonstrated capability to collaborate with and empower business teams, translating policy needs into practical solutions that align with business goals.

• Experience in a matrix environment, driving solutions for complex issues through cross-functional teamwork.

• Proficiency in data analysis and making data-driven decisions.

• Skill in simplifying and explaining complex information to diverse audiences.

• Adaptability to cultural differences and nuances.

• Strong commitment to ethics, integrity, diversity, and inclusiveness.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. is registered.
