Platform Engineer – Microsoft Azure, Fabric

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage the Microsoft Fabric platform.

• Oversee Fabric capacities, workspaces, and environments.

• Establish platform standards, guardrails, and reusable architectural patterns.

• Configure security measures, access controls, and RBAC.

• Employ Infrastructure as Code and automate platform processes.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines for Fabric deployments.

• Automate the provisioning and configuration of environments.

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for the platform.

• Manage capacity, performance, and overall platform utilization.

• Troubleshoot incidents and conduct root-cause analyses.

• Provide support to Data Engineering, BI, and AI teams utilizing the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric administration, including Fabric Capacities, Workspace & Tenant Administration, OneLake/Lakehouse, Fabric Data Factory, Fabric Warehouse, Fabric Notebooks, and Power BI/Semantic Models.

• Strong understanding of Azure cloud architecture and enterprise data platform environments.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development workflows, and automated release processes.

• Demonstrated experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and managing automated deployments.

• In-depth knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), cloud security, monitoring, incident management, and optimizing platform performance.

• Proficient in using Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure automation.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, encompassing deployment and release management practices.

• Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and/or Python.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Azure Data Factory, and/or Azure Databricks.

• Understanding of Kubernetes, FinOps, and DataOps methodologies.

• Relevant certifications in Microsoft Fabric or Azure.
