Platform Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain enterprise OpenShift (Kubernetes) platforms across on-premises and hybrid settings.

• Create infrastructure automation solutions utilizing Go, Python, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.

• Develop and maintain Kubernetes Operators, APIs, and self-service platform functionalities.

• Execute and oversee GitOps deployment workflows with tools such as Argo CD and Tekton.

• Establish integrations between OpenShift and enterprise systems via APIs and automation frameworks.

• Enhance platform reliability, scalability, and resilience through automated monitoring, alerting, and recovery strategies.

• Create observability solutions utilizing Dynatrace, Prometheus, and centralized logging systems.

• Provide support for containerized and virtualized workloads using OpenShift Virtualization.

• Collaborate with architects, application teams, and platform stakeholders to improve developer experience and platform adoption.

• Contribute to engineering standards, code quality, automation best practices, and offer technical mentoring.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Automation.

• Extensive hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Kubernetes.

• Proven experience in designing, deploying, upgrading, and automating Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters.

• Proficient in software development using Go or Python.

• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming principles and software engineering practices.

• Familiarity with GitOps methodologies and tools such as Argo CD.

• Experience with CI/CD platforms like Tekton, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.

• Practical experience in API development and system integrations.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), YAML, and Ansible.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

• Preferred: Experience in developing Kubernetes Operators.

• Preferred: Familiarity with OpenShift Virtualization.

• Preferred: Experience with observability platforms like Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.

• Preferred: Background in private cloud or hybrid cloud environments.

• Preferred: Experience in enabling self-service platform capabilities for application teams.
