PhD Researcher, Multimodal AI – Human Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct research on multimodal AI strategies for comprehending built environments and human experiences.

• Create methodologies utilizing foundation models, AI agents, and/or world models.

• Engage with multimodal datasets, encompassing visual, spatial, behavioral, and physiological information.

• Design experiments and benchmarks to assess AI predictions in comparison to human responses.

• Develop and assess research prototypes for both real and simulated environments.

• Document and share findings through academic papers, presentations, and demonstrations.

• Contribute to impactful projects and engage in tech talks and developmental opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, HCI, Robotics, Computational Design, or a related discipline, with an anticipated graduation date of 2028 or later.

• Research experience in AI/ML, computer vision, human perception, or a similar computational domain.

• Proficient programming skills, preferably in Python and contemporary ML frameworks.

• Experience in designing computational experiments and handling complex datasets.

• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.

• Preferred: familiarity with multimodal AI or vision-language models; world models, AI agents, or spatial intelligence; 3D, simulation, or virtual environments; human perception or human-centered AI; physiological or behavioral signals like EEG or eye tracking; human-subject research; AEC or computational design; or Autodesk tools such as Forma.
