Pharmacy Technician – Specialty Outreach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Efficiently prepare prescription orders in a timely manner in collaboration with pharmacists.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and conduct phone outreach to patients and healthcare providers.

• Communicate with medical offices to clarify prescription details.

• Inform patients about the status of their prescriptions.

• Assist pharmacist callback queues by obtaining refill authorizations and clarifying prescriptions.

• Aid in pre-QA and data entry tasks.

• Address email escalations promptly.

• Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate dispensing of prescriptions.

• Operate under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

• Maintain and update inventory recap reports.

• Retrieve and dispose of or return discontinued or expired medications as necessary.

• Complete all required medication documentation.

• Keep prescription logs updated.

• Maintain pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs along with related maintenance documentation.

• Adhere to safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory standards.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Follow all policies and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician or in a medical office.

• Knowledge of medications commonly used to treat chronic or debilitating conditions.

• Must reside in and uphold an active Pharmacy Technician license in Texas, Missouri, or California.

• State pharmacy technician license(s) relevant to the location of the employee and the assigned pharmacy.

• Specialty pharmacy experience, particularly in Infusion and/or Oncology, is highly desirable.

• National Certification, such as PTCB or ExCPT, is strongly preferred.

• Proficient in using computer systems.

• Typing speed of no less than 40 words per minute.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM in the employee's respective time zone.

• Availability to work some holidays when the business is operational.
