This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +43 more states.
• Oversee the clinical relationships with pharmacy support teams from health plans, pharmacists, medical directors, Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), and senior leaders in health plans.
• Manage 2 to 4 market segments, which may include Medicare, Medicaid, Exchange, or Commercial.
• Proactively oversee client priorities, financial objectives, clinical goals, and commitments from leadership in collaboration with business leads.
• Analyze client data along with competitive market conditions to create and implement business plans aimed at supporting profitability and growth.
• Work with clients on competitor analysis, as well as their products and services.
• Suggest formulary options, utilization management adjustments, clinical programs, specialty drug strategies, and opportunities for benefit design.
• Partner with internal teams and trade partners to develop custom programs, formularies, and rebate strategies.
• Track drug trends, drug pipelines, and issues related to fraud, waste, and abuse.
• Establish trusted consultative partnerships to enhance client loyalty.
• Perform outreach to providers and members as necessary.
• Provide guidance to Clinical Benefits Pharmacists and the Benefits and Operations teams regarding client requirements.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Identify opportunities for client value and offer consultative recommendations with follow-up.
• Achieve or surpass client satisfaction and value targets.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a managed care Pharmacist and/or completion of a Managed Care Residency program for at least 1 year.
• A valid pharmacist license in good standing.
• Proven experience in a client-facing capacity within the managed care sector.
• Clear understanding of and experience with utilization management trends and programs in the managed care landscape.
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent listening and presentation abilities.
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist licensure in at least one state.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
