Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Interpret prescriptions from physicians and prepare and dispense medications in accordance with regulatory standards.

• Dispense medications for both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring prescriptions are verified according to professional benchmarks, facility policies, and legal requirements at both state and federal levels.

• Provide consultation to patients regarding their medications, including information on supplies, dosage, frequency, specialized needs, and potential drug interactions.

• Address patient inquiries and resolve any prescription-related issues.

• Review and assess patient care plans for any evident discrepancies.

• Oversee the hiring, termination, and performance management processes for pharmacy technicians.

• Monitor staff performance and adherence to policies and dispensing protocols.

• Uphold quality assurance, maintain controlled-substance security, and adhere to record-keeping practices.

• Suggest modifications to operating procedures to the manager.

• Verify unit-dose orders, input orders, and confirm IV admixtures.

• Offer technical support and guidance to pharmacy technicians.

• Address escalated customer inquiries, requests, and concerns.

• Consult with personnel regarding pharmaceutical matters and pharmacy operations.

• Review daily reports and pharmacy technician schedules, including leave and holiday time.

• Ensure that customer files and contact information are updated for compliance.

• Lead departmental meetings and conduct in-service training for pharmacy technicians.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in either Texas or Kentucky.

• Extensive training typically acquired through the completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree program or an equivalent blend of experience and education.

• Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

• At least eight (8) years of directly related and progressively responsible experience.

• Unrestricted and current state license as a Registered Pharmacist in the resident state.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work swiftly and accurately under time constraints and high volume.

• Strong leadership capabilities.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in resolving customer issues swiftly and creatively.

• Knowledgeable about pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Good analytical abilities.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Capability to handle stressful situations.

• Must be adaptable regarding schedule and hours.

• Some travel may be necessary.
