Certified Pharmacy Technician – Outreach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver outstanding customer service in a phone-centric environment

• Accurately input high-volume prescription data

• Handle prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers

• Conduct claim adjudication and auditing, including prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility verifications

• Make outbound calls to patients

• Address patient-care concerns from active case queues

• Serve as a liaison between clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals

• Collaborate with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients

• Safeguard confidential patient records

• Obtain and confirm prescription information via doctor communications

• Welcome newly onboarded patients and establish communication points

• Create, maintain, and update patient medication profiles

• Provide backup assistance during peak call volumes

• Respond to patient inquiries via phone

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Current certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA)

• Valid pharmacy technician registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Previous experience in a pharmacy environment

• Capability to work in an office or remote setting, primarily seated at a desk

• Comfortable in a phone-based role

• Ability to work independently

• Proficient in using computer equipment, technology, and various software applications

• Outstanding customer service abilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of medications

• Understanding of pharmacy billing practices

• Familiarity with prescription intake, clarifications, and transfers

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills

• Capacity to maintain confidentiality

• Ability to think critically and document details in accordance with state and federal regulations

• Willingness to travel to multiple site locations within the assigned territory

• Availability to work extended hours as necessary
