This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Assess new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic relevance, potential interactions, contraindications, and accurate dosing.
• Confirm the accuracy of pharmacy technician prescription data entry.
• Review filled prescriptions for medication, dosage, quantity, NDC, labeling, and release for shipment.
• Conduct daily prospective drug utilization reviews and address clinical alerts.
• Oversee the handling of specialty medications, including verification of cold-chain processes.
• Provide outbound patient education via phone concerning medication information, side effects, dosing, storage, and adherence.
• Manage inbound clinical patient inquiries and direct non-clinical questions to patient support services.
• Record patient interactions within the pharmacy management system.
• Offer bilingual counseling for Spanish-speaking patients as needed.
• Communicate with prescribers to clarify incomplete, unclear, or inappropriate prescriptions.
• Collaborate with prescribers regarding medication substitutions, DAW overrides, and formulary options.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians in data entry, processing, packaging, and fulfillment workflows.
• Perform real-time quality assessments and deliver corrective feedback.
• Address technician performance patterns and engage in coaching and training initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, state pharmacy practice regulations, federal DEA guidelines, and company policies.
• Oversee the management, documentation, and disposal of records containing PHI.
• Participate in audits, prescription error tracking, and near-miss reporting processes.
• Report adverse drug events and medication errors through pharmacovigilance channels.
• Maintain compliance regarding the storage of temperature-sensitive medications.
• Collaborate with pharmacy, patient services, clinical, compliance, and technology teams.
• Coordinate with shipping and fulfillment teams to resolve packaging and delivery challenges.
• Provide clinical insights on technology and workflow enhancements.
• Take part in huddles, quality reviews, and departmental meetings.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Active Missouri Pharmacy License in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to execute high-volume prescription verification with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong technical skills and the capacity to learn pharmacy management systems, verification platforms, and internal workflows.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred for phone-based patient counseling.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mail-order, specialty, retail, or closed-door fulfillment pharmacy is preferred.
• Active pharmacy license required in the home state.
• Candidates must obtain licensure in 3 additional states from the specified list within the first 9 months of employment.
• Familiarity with pharmacovigilance or adverse drug event reporting procedures is preferred.
• Availability for rotating shifts from Monday to Friday between 7:30 am - 9 pm ET and rotating Saturdays from 7:00 am - 5 pm ET.
