This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Assess and clinically confirm new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, interactions, contraindications, and dosing precision.

• Ensure pharmacy technician accuracy in prescription data entry.

• Validate filled prescriptions for medication, dosage, quantity, NDC, and labeling correctness prior to shipment.

• Conduct daily prospective drug utilization reviews and address any clinical flags.

• Oversee the handling of specialty medications, including verifying cold-chain requirements.

• Offer outbound patient counseling via phone regarding medication education, side effects, dosing, storage, and adherence.

• Manage inbound clinical patient inquiries and document interactions in the pharmacy management system.

• Provide bilingual counseling for Spanish-speaking patients when applicable.

• Communicate with prescriber offices to clarify incomplete, unclear, or inappropriate prescriptions.

• Collaborate with prescribers on medication substitutions, DAW overrides, and formulary alternatives.

• Supervise pharmacy technicians and perform real-time quality assessments.

• Report technician performance trends and engage in coaching and training efforts.

• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, state pharmacy regulations, federal DEA laws, and company policies.

• Manage the handling and destruction of PHI records.

• Participate in audits, prescription error tracking, near-miss reporting, and pharmacovigilance initiatives.

• Ensure compliance in the storage of temperature-sensitive medications.

• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, patient services, clinical teams, compliance, technology, shipping, and fulfillment groups.

• Provide clinical insights on technology and workflow enhancements.

• Engage in team huddles, quality reviews, and departmental meetings.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.

• Active Missouri Pharmacy License in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

• Proficient command of the English language, both written and spoken.

• Proven ability to conduct high-volume prescription verification with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong technical skills and capability to learn pharmacy management systems, verification platforms, and internal workflow tools.

• Bilingual Spanish preferred for phone-based patient counseling.

• 3+ years of experience in mail order, specialty, retail, or closed-door fulfillment pharmacy preferred.

• Active pharmacy license required in the home state.

• Candidates must secure licensure in three additional states from the specified states within the first nine months of employment.

• Familiarity with pharmacovigilance or adverse drug event reporting protocols is preferred.
