Personal Financial Counselor, PFC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.

• Assist service members in creating a spending plan for extended periods of absence.

• Develop and provide informational financial resources to service members and their families.

• Organize, promote, and offer a diverse range of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.

• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.

• Demonstrate the ability to effectively use virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods.

• Manage duty to warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols.

• Communicate with leadership and engage in regular individual and group supervision.

• Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement committees, or other assigned contract activities as appropriate.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.

• Candidates with an associate degree plus 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• Candidates with a high school diploma plus 6 years of relevant experience may also be considered as an alternative to a bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is required.

• Must be a U.S. citizen with fluent English proficiency.

• If mandated by the contract, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is necessary.

• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation is required.

• Must successfully complete the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

• Must possess one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
