
Personal Financial Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Offer coverage during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios driven by military requirements
• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families
• Conduct one-on-one counseling and consultations with commanders, providers, and staff
• Facilitate briefings, presentations, classes, seminars, and workshops focused on personal financial management
• Supply referral resources beyond counseling sessions
• Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended absences
• Develop and distribute informational materials related to financial management
• Coordinate and promote financial management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication methods when permitted
• Manage duty-to-warn scenarios in accordance with Department of Defense protocols
• Communicate with leadership and engage in individual and group supervision
• Share trends and issues from assigned installations
• Participate in in-services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract-related activities
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• A bachelor's degree is required
• An associate degree plus 4 years of experience may be accepted in place of a bachelor's degree
• A high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
• Over 3 years of experience in financial counseling
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Proficiency in spoken English is required
• Bilingualism in English and Spanish is required if specified by the contract
• Capable of obtaining a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
• Must successfully complete the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
• Must possess one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
• A valid in-state driver's license is necessary
