People Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, create, test, deploy, and sustain automation and integration systems for People functions utilizing Workato, Google Cloud Platform, Claude, Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and GitLab.

• Develop integrations for Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and internal tools using Workday Web Services, Slack API, and Bot SDK.

• Create Slack applications and bots that streamline manual processes.

• Document, version-control, and write automation code in Ruby or a similar scripting language.

• Oversee integration performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve underlying causes.

• Implement changes via GitLab CI/CD pipelines, adhering to testing, change-management, and SOX ITGC standards.

• Leverage AI tools, LLMs, Claude, and MCP frameworks to prototype AI agents and enhance People workflows.

• Propose sustainable, scalable, and maintainable solutions, collaborating with People Technology Analysts, Information Security, IT, and AI Engineering.

• Enhance automation architecture, documentation, and maintenance procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in developing automations or integrations, preferably within human resources or business systems.

• Proficient in writing and maintaining code in Ruby or a similar scripting language, such as Python or JavaScript, with a willingness to learn Ruby.

• Hands-on experience with Workato or a similar iPaaS in a live production environment.

• Familiarity with APIs and web services, including REST and SOAP.

• Skilled in using Git for version control and code review.

• Regular use of AI tools to automate tasks, accelerate development, and enhance processes.

• Capability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, collaborate transparently, safeguard highly confidential information, and take responsibility for code quality and dependable outcomes.

• Additional relevant experience with Workday integrations, Slack applications or bots, CI/CD pipelines, Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services, Docker or Kubernetes, LLMs, AI agents, MCP frameworks, SOX ITGC controls, Greenhouse, Serval, Google Workspace, or all-remote asynchronous work is a plus.

• A degree in computing or equivalent experience is appreciated; however, it is not mandatory.
