This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Design and implement real-time automation controls and information systems.
• Engage in conceptualization during the project's design phase.
• Program, troubleshoot, and evaluate systems.
• Produce project engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documents, case studies, and additional documentation.
• Commission innovative solutions at client locations and recognize opportunities for enhancement.
• Develop methodologies and address complex challenges.
• Acquire knowledge of new technologies.
• Guide colleagues in specialized areas of expertise.
• Create real-time automation solutions extending from the manufacturing floor to the enterprise level.
• Collaborate with PLC/PAC programming, operator interfaces and HMI applications, SCADA, networks, databases, and vision systems.
• Successful or anticipated completion of a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology degree.
• A minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience with some or all of the technologies listed.
• Proficiency in PLC and PAC programming, HMI application design, SCADA design, network design, database design, and vision system design.
• Detail-oriented, conscientious, analytical, focused, self-motivated individual with a quick learning ability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must have full-time access to a personal vehicle.
• Willingness to travel up to 30–50% within the USA.
• Experience with DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote IO, and Modbus is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of Python, Historian (PI System), and databases is advantageous.
• Preferably experienced in the food and beverage and life sciences sectors.
