This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Act as the primary point of contact for a group of leaders regarding matters related to personnel, performance decisions, team dynamics, and challenging discussions.
• Collaborate on the development of progression, performance criteria, evaluations, and recognition frameworks.
• Manage the entire process of performance management, difficult conversations, employee exits, and organizational restructuring.
• Leverage AI and automation to enhance operational workflows.
• Transform recurring issues faced by employees and managers into optimized processes, tools, guidance, or self-service options.
• Assess the effectiveness of processes and redesign them as necessary.
• Mentor and provoke thought among leaders regarding personnel decisions, employment legislation, performance, potential, compensation, and career progression.
• Ensure uniformity across the designated portfolio.
• Create people frameworks tailored for a non-hierarchical, player-coach organizational structure.
• Report directly to the Performance Service Manager.
• Take real ownership of personnel decisions, including hiring, performance evaluations, and exit strategies, either directly or by advising leaders.
• Capable of managing difficult discussions while balancing efficiency with compassion.
• Experience in fostering or contributing to a high-performance culture.
• Ability to challenge and sway leadership decisions effectively.
• Comfort in navigating without a predefined guide in a rapidly evolving company environment.
• Strong first-principles thinking skills with the capability to identify root causes, assess competing factors, and foresee second-order consequences.
• Proficiency with Notion, automation, and AI tools.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Experience in employment relations within the UK, Europe, or the US is preferred.
• Familiarity with working across multiple countries, including employer of record arrangements, is advantageous.
• Experience in compensation and benchmarking, including salary banding, pay review cycles, and market data, is desirable.
• CIPD qualification is not a prerequisite.
• A background in HR is not mandatory.
