This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of payroll and contractor payments for two entities, both domestically and internationally.
• Oversee payroll administration, tax registrations, payroll maintenance, W2 management through platforms such as Rippling, Gusto, and QuickBooks, along with managing contractor accounts payable including 1099 reporting.
• Manage the entire employee lifecycle, which includes policy oversight, employment documentation, file maintenance, device management and retrieval, leave administration, and offboarding processes.
• Handle the full recruitment process from headcount approvals and job description enhancements to ATS management, candidate screening, compensation discussions, negotiations, and offer placements.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to provide daily People support to both leaders and employees.
• Provide guidance on workforce planning and people solutions.
• Foster company culture, facilitate all-hands meetings, and promote performance and growth initiatives.
• Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
• Utilize external recruiting resources when screening volumes surpass capacity while maintaining control over the process, pipeline, and outcomes.
• 4–7 years of experience in People Operations or recruiting, with a focus on being the primary leader of the hiring process rather than a supporting role.
• Practical experience in Rippling administration, particularly in managing payroll cycles and onboarding workflows.
• Proficient in using an ATS (Ashby or similar) for candidate screening and managing the recruitment pipeline from start to finish.
• Familiarity with multi-state US payroll tax registration and compliance.
• Experience in compensating international contractors and supporting multiple legal entities.
• Willingness to undertake occasional travel as necessary, estimated at 10%.
• Registered payroll tax accounts in various states with experience in resolving agency notifications.
• Knowledge of international contractor payments, accounts payable, 1099 reporting, and vendor compliance.
• Experience in administering parental leave, disability, paid family leave, and unemployment claims.
• Proficient in employee lifecycle administration, HRIS, onboarding, offboarding, and leave management.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with care.
• Comfortable independently managing People Operations and presenting to the entire company.
