This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Act as the People Operations partner for India, collaborating with teams in both India and the US to implement talent initiatives, policies, and systems.
• Serve as the primary contact for People Operations inquiries from India employees, addressing daily employee concerns.
• Liaise with managers, Finance, IT, global People Operations, and external vendors.
• Oversee employee data management, HRIS records, employment alterations, compensation updates, documentation, audits, leave management, and attendance systems.
• Manage payroll inputs for India, including validations, changes, reimbursements, and final reviews for monthly payouts.
• Keep track of statutory requirements, insurance, contracts, renewals, audits, and recurring deadlines.
• Lead the complete recruitment process for tech, product, and business operations roles based in India.
• Create screening criteria, interview scorecards, competency assessments, and candidate evaluation methods.
• Handle sourcing, screening, shortlisting, scheduling, candidate communications, reference checks, offers, and onboarding transitions.
• Maintain recruitment pipelines and reporting using Greenhouse and other sourcing tools.
• Oversee the entire employee lifecycle in India, including preboarding, onboarding, promotions, documentation, and offboarding.
• Drive initiatives to build company culture, organize team offsites, and facilitate virtual all-team meetings.
• Ensure onboarding readiness, including HRIS setup, documentation, equipment/access provisioning, orientation, and new-hire check-ins.
• Conduct stay and exit interviews, analyze attrition data, and manage offboarding processes, including asset recovery, access removal, and final settlements.
• Draft, review, implement, and communicate People policies for India.
• Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, including Shops & Establishments, PF, ESIC, POSH, and Gratuity.
• Manage vendor relationships related to People operations and coordinate with payroll, insurance, legal, IT, background verification, training, and other partners.
• Act as the initial point of contact for employee grievances, ensuring confidentiality and workplace safety.
• 3–5 years of comprehensive HR generalist experience in a rapidly growing startup or tech environment.
• Preferred MBA or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Proven experience in talent acquisition, HR operations, and employee engagement.
• Familiarity with Indian labor laws, PF, ESI, POSH, and fundamental payroll mechanics.
• Proficient in HRIS platforms like Rippling and Darwinbox.
• Skilled in ATS tools such as Greenhouse and Lever.
• Strong sense of ownership, proactive approach, and capability to navigate ambiguity in a matrixed environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
