This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Serve as a strategic partner and mentor to people managers regarding performance discussions, team dynamics, and leadership challenges.
• Manage the entire performance management process, including review strategies, performance expectations, KPIs, and addressing unmet expectations.
• Lead the development and enhancement of compensation strategies through market data analysis, merit and bonus cycles, and collaboration with Finance on commission plans.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify and address workplace issues that may impact engagement, productivity, or morale.
• Convert people data into actionable recommendations that align with business objectives.
• Design and improve training and development programs for People Managers.
• Enhance People Operations policies, processes, and self-service resources.
• Act as the primary contact for employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
• Report to the VP of People and work closely with the People Operations Coordinator and Manager of People Operations.
• Over 7 years of HR experience, including more than 3 years in an HR Business Partner position.
• Demonstrated experience in managing compensation administration and evolving compensation strategies over time.
• Proven expertise in designing and refining performance management methodologies.
• Established experience in independently handling employee relations and conducting workplace investigations.
• Ability to coach and influence people managers effectively.
• Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of managing competing priorities independently.
• Strong commitment to follow-through and accountability for recurring tasks.
• Residing in the San Diego, CA area; preference for being onsite 2–4 days per month.
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
• Eagerness to engage in a dynamic early-stage startup environment.
