This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily employee relations activities from initiation to resolution, which includes assessment, fact-finding, interviews, investigations, conclusions, recommendations, communication, documentation, and follow-up.

• Collaborate with Managing Attorneys, managers, and staff on workplace issues, performance, conduct, leave, and accommodations.

• Guide managers on equitable and consistent actions and provide advice on performance, conduct, attendance, conflict, and retention issues.

• Address routine matters in accordance with Firm policy and escalate significant legal, employee, policy, retaliation, discrimination, safety, or high-impact employment risks.

• Keep precise, timely, and confidential case records and monitor actions and deadlines until completion.

• Manage leave and accommodation issues related to ADA, FMLA, state and local leave laws, and religious accommodations.

• Facilitate interactive processes, necessary documentation, communications, and case milestones.

• Coordinate leave administration and workplace accommodations with employees, managers, payroll, benefits, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Track employment and leave regulations across jurisdictions and assist in updating policies, procedures, handbooks, and manager guidance.

• Lead initiatives in employee relations, leave, accommodations, and employee experience from planning to execution.

• Create and maintain procedures, templates, and process guides.

• Examine case and leave data, recurring themes, and manager feedback to identify trends and propose actions.

• Assist in planning and delivering training for managers on employee relations, performance discussions, leave, accommodations, and P&C collaboration.

• Work with cross-functional partners to address employee issues and implement People & Culture processes.

• Carry out other related tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in employee relations, human resources, leave administration, accommodations, employment compliance, or a closely related field, with independent ownership of complex matters and projects.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience will be considered.

• Experience in conducting employee relations reviews or investigations.

• Experience advising managers on performance, conduct, workplace issues, and appropriate follow-up actions.

• Practical experience in managing leave and accommodation processes, including ADA, FMLA, and relevant state and local regulations.

• Familiarity with employment practices and multi-state requirements, including those in California, Colorado, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Georgia.

• Capability to research and apply regulations in additional jurisdictions.

• Experience within a law firm, professional services, or rapidly expanding multi-state organization is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Proficient in Adobe, Slack, and Zoom.

• Reliable remote work setup, featuring high-speed internet and a functional workstation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage sensitive matters, prioritize deadlines, and maintain documentation and follow-up.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating across teams.
