This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Oversee daily employee relations processes for designated cases, encompassing intake, investigation, recommendations, documentation, and follow-up.
• Collaborate with Managing Attorneys, managers, and employees regarding workplace issues, performance, conduct, attendance, conflict resolution, retention, and other employee-related concerns.
• Provide guidance to managers on fair and consistent actions while partnering with People & Culture leadership on corrective measures or separation decisions.
• Address routine issues in line with Firm policy, escalating significant legal, employee, safety, retaliation, discrimination, policy, or high-impact employment risks when necessary.
• Keep precise, timely, and confidential records of cases, tracking actions and deadlines until completion.
• Manage leave and accommodation issues involving ADA, FMLA, state and local leave laws, and religious accommodations.
• Facilitate interactive processes, documentation, communications, and case milestones while safeguarding confidential medical information.
• Collaborate with employees, managers, payroll, benefits, and other stakeholders regarding leave administration and workplace accommodations.
• Monitor employment and leave regulations across Firm jurisdictions and assist in updating policies, procedures, handbooks, and managerial guidance.
• Lead initiatives related to employee relations, leave, accommodations, and employee experience from planning to execution.
• Develop and uphold procedures, templates, and process guides to enhance consistency, compliance, and scalability.
• Analyze case and leave data, recurring trends, and feedback from managers to identify patterns and suggest actions.
• Plan and deliver educational resources for managers on employee relations, performance discussions, leave, accommodations, and P&C collaboration.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address employee issues and implement People & Culture processes.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned to support the needs of People & Culture and the Firm.
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in employee relations, human resources, leave administration, accommodations, employment compliance, or a closely related field, including independent management of complex matters and projects.
• A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience will also be considered.
• Proven experience in conducting employee relations reviews or investigations and advising managers on performance, conduct, workplace issues, and appropriate follow-up.
• Practical experience in administering leave and accommodation procedures, including ADA, FMLA, and relevant state and local regulations.
• Familiarity with employment practices and multi-state requirements, including those in California, Colorado, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Georgia; ability to research and apply requirements in additional jurisdictions as the Firm grows.
• Experience within a law firm, professional services, or a rapidly expanding multi-state organization is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe, Slack, and Zoom.
• A reliable remote work setup, featuring high-speed internet and an appropriate workstation.

• Ability to manage multiple sensitive matters, prioritize deadlines, and ensure accurate documentation and follow-up.
