PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Japanese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Open and verify the provided PDF annotation tasks.

• Ensure that the pages are in Japanese, clearly readable, contain genuine content, and do not display any personal information.

• Identify and delineate every significant page region.

• Assign component types and establish reading-order indexes.

• Connect regions to their corresponding figures or tables using parent component identifiers.

• Accurately transcribe all text as presented, including Japanese scripts, furigana, and handwriting.

• Flag any illegible source regions.

• Record language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.

• Review colleagues' work comprehensively as a seasoned annotator.

• Generate human-authored training data for document AI models.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native Japanese speaker with complete proficiency in kanji, hiragana, katakana, furigana, and variant character forms.

• Professional experience in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, editorial roles, or similar document-intensive fields.

• Exceptional character-level accuracy and keen attention to detail.

• Capability to apply a taxonomy consistently across numerous pages.

• Comfort with vertical text, multi-column newspapers, examination papers, and handwritten forms.

• Fluent Japanese language skills are essential; all tasks are conducted in Japanese.

• Ability to work autonomously as an independent contractor.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.
