PDF Annotation, Transcription Expert – Japanese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Open and review the provided PDF tasks; no need for document sourcing.

• Verify that the pages are in Japanese, clear, contain authentic content, and do not include personal details.

• Identify and delineate every significant page region, assign component types, and document the reading order.

• Connect regions to their corresponding figures or tables utilizing parent component identifiers.

• Transcribe all text precisely as presented, including Japanese scripts, furigana, and handwriting.

• Mark any illegible areas.

• Record language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.

• Review the work of colleagues comprehensively as an experienced annotator.

• Generate human-authored training data for document AI models.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native Japanese speaker with complete mastery of kanji, hiragana, katakana, furigana, and variant character forms.

• Professional experience in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, editorial work, or similar document-heavy roles.

• Exceptional character-level accuracy and attention to detail.

• Capability to consistently apply a taxonomy across numerous pages.

• Familiarity with vertical text, multi-column newspapers, exam papers, and handwritten forms.

• Fluency in the Japanese language is essential.

• Ability to work independently as a contractor.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported.
