This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, investigation, and resolution of payroll tax notices at the federal, state/provincial, and local levels for the US and Canada.

• Monitor issues until resolved and maintain thorough documentation to support audit processes.

• Accurately and timely process payroll tax adjustments, W2c corrections, and T4 amendments.

• Ensure proper tax treatment for employees across various states and provinces.

• Oversee the registration of new tax jurisdictions and entities within Smart Compliance.

• Address system exceptions and verify tax configurations to guarantee accurate processing.

• Assist with quarter-end and year-end payroll tax functions, including preparation of W-2/T4 forms, reconciliations, filings, and validations.

• Handle and resolve a high volume of employee tax and payroll inquiries, providing exceptional customer service.

• Aid in employment tax audits by preparing documentation and responding in a timely manner.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements to mitigate risk and boost efficiency.

• Remain adaptable to support peak periods and special projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of practical experience in employment/payroll tax for both the USA and Canada.

• Proficient in Workday and Smart Compliance, with expertise in managing tax registrations and resolving exceptions.

• Experience with quarter-end and year-end payroll tax activities, including filings, reconciliations, and reporting.

• Background in processing payroll tax adjustments, W2c corrections, and T4 amendments.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage high-volume employee inquiries with a strong customer service focus.

• Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of organizing and interpreting payroll/tax data.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• FPC or PCP certification is preferred.

• Knowledge of Executive Compensation Payroll and Tax Reporting.

• A self-motivated individual who can prioritize multiple tasks with minimal oversight.

• Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and adapting to changing regulatory requirements.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• A team player who fosters a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
