This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee and coordinate intricate multi-country payroll operations throughout the Americas region.
• Manage complete payroll cycles for designated countries in the Americas, with a key focus on Canada.
• Supervise Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements.
• Process, review, and authorize monthly as well as off-cycle payrolls utilizing UKG, ADP Celergo, and/or local payroll systems.
• Administer UKG Workforce Management, encompassing time and attendance data, schedules, absence records, pay rules, exceptions, approvals, interfaces, and issue resolution.
• Conduct thorough payroll audits and verify hires, terminations, salary adjustments, variable pay, overtime, absences, benefits, deductions, and retroactive changes.
• Reconcile payroll reports to guarantee the accuracy of payroll outputs, statutory deductions, employer expenses, and net pay.
• Ensure adherence to local tax, social security, pension, statutory benefit, employment, and reporting requirements.
• Serve as a primary escalation point for complex payroll inquiries from employees, HR, Finance, managers, and vendors.
• Collaborate with ADP, UKG, and local payroll providers on processing, service level agreement (SLA) compliance, issue resolution, and ongoing improvements.
• Assist with month-end and year-end payroll tasks, statutory filings, reconciliations, finance reporting, employee documentation, and audits.
• Develop, maintain, and review standard operating procedures (SOPs), payroll calendars, control documentation, and country-specific process maps.
• Provide guidance and share knowledge with Payroll Specialists and support cross-training within the Global Payroll Team.
• Lead or assist with payroll projects, system implementations, integrations, testing, standardization, and process enhancement initiatives across the Americas.
• Report directly to the Sr. Payroll Manager.
• 5-8 years of pertinent experience in multi-country payroll, ideally within the Americas.
• Strong expertise in end-to-end payroll processes, including pre-payroll audits, calculation reviews, statutory filings, post-payroll reconciliations, and issue resolution.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, taxation, social security, pensions, statutory benefits, and employment-related payroll requirements in Canada, the US, and the Americas.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with global payroll platforms such as ADP Celergo, UKG, and Workforce Management systems.
• Required hands-on experience in UKG WFM administration.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies, reconcile data, and enhance controls across various software platforms.
• Strong vendor management capabilities.
• Experience in a fast-paced HR/Payroll environment and the ability to handle competing deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
• Capability to mentor, guide, and support colleagues within a regional and global payroll framework.
• Experience with EOR payroll operations and/or payroll vendor transitions across the Americas is a plus.
• Certification from PayrollOrg, CIPP, GPA, NPI, or other similar payroll associations is advantageous.
• Additional language skills are a benefit.
• Experience in payroll transformation, mergers and acquisitions, new country implementations, system integrations, or global program rollouts is a plus.
