This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
• Oversee payroll implementation projects from the discovery phase to go-live, ensuring that timelines and deliverables are achieved.
• Gain a thorough understanding of clients’ payroll procedures, business needs, compliance requirements, and reporting goals.
• Configure payroll systems, including earnings and deduction codes, tax settings, direct deposit arrangements, accrual policies, and various payroll-related elements.
• Perform payroll data reviews, validation, and testing to guarantee accurate system setup and client readiness.
• Conduct implementation meetings and relay project status, risks, and next steps to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Provide client training on payroll system functionalities, best practices, workflows, and administrative features.
• Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and guide clients through payroll parallel testing and preparations for go-live.
• Collaborate with sales, onboarding, HRIS, benefits, and technical teams to ensure successful implementations.
• Identify potential areas for process enhancement and propose solutions that improve payroll efficiency and compliance.
• Create and maintain comprehensive implementation documentation, project notes, system configurations, and client records.
• Act as a payroll subject matter expert during implementations, offering insights on payroll regulations and industry best practices.
• Provide support during post-go-live stabilization to ensure a smooth transition to continuous client support teams.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in payroll, payroll implementation, HRIS implementation, or payroll consulting.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations as well as payroll best practices.
• Experience in implementing or configuring payroll platforms such as Paychex, ADP, UKG, Paylocity, Workday, or similar systems.
• Ability to collect business requirements and translate them into system configurations.
• Strong project management, organizational, and client relationship management capabilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and training skills.
• Capability to manage multiple implementation projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Preferred experience with data validation, payroll testing, and system conversion activities.
• Experience in implementing payroll solutions for construction companies, including union payroll and prevailing wage requirements.
• Certification such as FPC, CPP, PMP, or other related credentials is advantageous.
