This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Oversee, guide, and nurture a payroll team based in the Philippines, which includes hiring, structuring, and coaching efforts.
• Administer the complete payroll process across more than 15 US states and act as the primary escalation point for intricate tax and system-related issues.
• Direct withholding, filing, and reconciliation across all state jurisdictions, managing SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and local tax nexus compliance.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for ADP Workforce Now or a similar platform, ensuring the integrity, integration, and ongoing optimization of the system.
• Oversee the registration of new state tax IDs and ensure compliance with obligations across the expanding US footprint.
• Lead the response to federal and state tax notices, garnishments, and year-end reconciliations, including the processing of W-2/W-3 forms.
• Provide accurate and timely payroll and compliance reporting to the C-suite, including updates on 401(k) contributions, audit status, and trend analysis.
• Facilitate the transition from manual and reactive payroll processing to automated, scalable, and audit-ready operations.
• Report directly to the VP of Human Resources and work collaboratively with US-based Finance, HR, and Operations leadership.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in US multi-state payroll, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven track record in building, structuring, or expanding a payroll team based in the Philippines.
• Extensive knowledge of US multi-state tax compliance (SUTA/FUTA, FICA, W-2/W-3, state nexus).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros, Power Query, and handling large datasets.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Willingness and availability to work from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM PHST.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, including criminal history, prior employment, and education verification.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Kronos/UKG, or other comparable enterprise payroll platforms is preferred.
• Possession of a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
• Experience in managing 401(k) reporting, garnishments, and payroll environments for multiple entities is preferred.
• Fully remote; work from anywhere in the Philippines.
